【摘要】:Thistestmethodwasdevelopedtomeasuretheradioactivityofuraniumisotopesinenvironmentalwatersorwatersreleasedtotheenvironment,andtodeterminewhethertheuranium-isotopeconcentrationsarebelowthemaximumamountsallowablebyanyregulatorystatute.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofalpha-particle-emittingisotopesofuraniuminwaterbymeansofchemicalseparationsandalphapulse-heightanalysis(alsoknownasalpha-particlespectrometry).Uraniumischemicallyseparatedfromawatersamplebycoprecipitationwithferroushydroxide,anionexchange,andelectrodeposition.Thetestmethodappliestosolubleuraniumaswellastoanyuraniumthatmightbepresentinsuspendedmatterinthewatersample.Thistestmethodisapplicableforuraniumprocessingeffluentsaswellassubstituteoceanwater.Whensuspendedmatterispresent,anaciddissolutionstepisaddedtoassurethatalloftheuraniumdissolves.Itistheuser'sresponsibilitytoensurethevalidityofthistestmethodforwatersofuntestedmatrices.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecificwarningstatementsaregiveninSection9.
